We’re excited to announce a new featured recording opportunity with internationally acclaimed horn soloist Radek Baborák, one of the most distinguished figures on the global classical stage. This opportunity invites composers to record original works for horn (solo or in chamber settings) alongside Baborák and his hand-picked collaborators in Prague, culminating in a professionally produced release and a public concert.

About the Artist

Do a search for top French Horn players of all time, and you’ll be hard pressed to find many lists which don’t include his name.

Radek Baborák is a celebrated performer and educator with over 35 years of international experience. He has performed as a soloist with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras, under leading conductors such as Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, Seiji Ozawa, and John Eliot Gardiner. His extensive experience as both horn soloist and conductor brings an unparalleled level of artistry and insight to every project he leads.

In addition to his work as a horn soloist, Baborák maintains an active international conducting career, bringing his interpretive depth to orchestras around the world. He has premiered works by leading contemporary composers including Toshio Hosokawa, Kaija Saariaho, and Esa-Pekka Salonen, and his own compositions and arrangements have been featured in concert programs and recordings alike. This breadth of experience—as performer, conductor, and creator—underscores his multifaceted approach to music-making and his ongoing commitment to artistic innovation.

Recording & Performance Structure

Selected pieces will be recorded individually in an efficient and artistically focused process at Studio Martínek, a state-of-the-art facility in Prague known for its natural acoustics and breathtaking main hall. The final program will culminate in a public concert in Prague upon release of all recordings.

Eligible Works

We are currently seeking original compositions or arrangements that feature horn in any of the following contexts:

  • Solo horn

  • Horn and piano

  • Horn within chamber ensemble

Larger ensemble works may be considered on a case-by-case basis. All submissions will be reviewed for technical feasibility, musical compatibility, and recording logistics.

  • Artistic Control: Composers maintain full ownership of their music and recorded masters, and retain final artistic approval on all post-production.

Submit Your Work

Submit your score or work samples to our A&R team for an initial review. Selected composers will receive a personalized production plan. Once approved, participation can proceed at the composer’s discretion – there’s no obligation to move forward after submitting.

Please Note

  • This opportunity requires funding to be secured by or on behalf of the composer to cover production and post-production expenses.

  • Submitting a score does not commit the composer or PARMA to any contractual obligations.

  • Composers retain full ownership of their underlying music and any resulting masters, maintaining complete artistic control.

  • Our team is available to assist with planning and preparing outward-facing materials to support project funding efforts for approved pieces.
