Pal Žiga, Concertmaster of the Subotica Philharmonic

PARMA is pleased to announce the winner of our January Call for Scores. With thoughtful input from the soloist, Concertmaster of the Subotica Philharmonic Pal Žiga, the selection panel chose the winners from several hundred anonymous submissions. The winning pieces will be performed in a virtual concert, featured and promoted on the PARMA Live Stage, and available for archival viewing online following the event.

WINNER

Evagelia Siarvali
Pandemic for Solo Violin

With the goal of helping provide performance opportunities for musicians whose were affected by the pandemic, and with the violinist’s approval, the panel has also selected the following two submitted works from the runners up to be included in the program:

Paul Siskind’s  Souvenirs Éphémères
Timothy Arliss OBrien’s  The Green of Your Eyes

The call for scores opened for submissions in January 2021, following PARMA’s ongoing format that invites composers worldwide to submit their work for performance consideration at no fee. The team awarded the winner a place in this program along with fully-subsidized professional audio, video, and streaming services by our GRAMMY-winning team.
