As PARMA Recordings prepares the next volume of its ongoing A Grand Journey series, a new Featured Recording Opportunity invites composers to collaborate with one of the label’s most enduring artistic partners: Ovidiu Marinescu and Trio Casals.

Highlighting contemporary classical chamber music, the project combines studio recording, live performance, and international distribution, reflecting PARMA’s ongoing commitment to long-term creative development and meaningful artist collaboration.

Selected works will be recorded by PARMA’s production team in December 2026, culminating in a live performance at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. Participants will also receive dedicated editorial coverage through Serenade Magazine, alongside a commercial release on Navona Records with customized publicity support and worldwide digital distribution.

At the center of the project is Trio Casals, whose celebrated recordings have become a defining presence throughout the Navona Records catalog.

“There are no weak pieces in the programme, and all draw sensitive and committed playing from the trio.”

Featuring Marinescu (cello), Timothy Schwarz (violin), and Mădălina-Claudia Dănilă (piano), the ensemble pairs technical precision with expressive depth and an international perspective shaped by decades of collective performance experience.

Trio Casals has championed contemporary composers through releases and performances marked by clarity, lyricism, and a strong collaborative spirit. Their work consistently demonstrates the power of chamber music to balance intimacy with ambition, making them especially well-suited for a project centered on exploration and creative evolution.

“As a performer of contemporary classical music, I feel that I’m part of making musical history, and I am delighted to be the catalyst for new compositions.”
