As BBC Music stated, “New music is very much at the heart of what PARMA Recordings is all about.” We’re proud to bring new music into the world in different ways, with one of those ways being live performances.

With that, PARMA is thrilled to announce the composer selected for our first category in the Summer 2020 Call for Scores. The winner receives placement of their submitted piece in a live concert performance by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.

And the results are…

WINNER

Brittney Benton “Nightfall”

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Gianluca Cascioli “Trasfigurazione (Omaggio a Alfred Schnittke)”
Benedikt Brydern “Night Train”
William Gum “The Redwood Suite”

PARMA’s work with the Armenian State Symphony started with the 2020 Khachaturian Competition for violin. In the Summer 2020 Call for Scores, PARMA offered the chance for one select work to be performed in concert by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra at no cost to the composer. We are happy to offer this opportunity to composer Brittney Benton.

We will announce the date and details of the concert in the coming months—stay tuned.

Congratulations to Brittney, Gianluca, Benedikt, William, and all who submitted their music!
