In honor of the 100th anniversary of Astor Piazzolla’s birth, the PARMA Music Festival is pleased to present ¡Gracias, Astor! by Tanguango Quinteto, whose performance is dedicated to the tango nuevo movement. The concert features compositions by Piazzolla, the father of tango nuevo, and works composed with his influence, including selections by Serbian artists and Argentinian traditional tango songs in “nuevo” arrangements.

The ensemble’s long-time collaboration with the largest tango school in Europe, Tango Natural, is on display here, with a professional tango couple dancing along with the music.
