PARMA recently caught up with clarinetist, sound artist, and composer Matthias Müller. Matthias received broad musical training at the University of Music in Basel, Switzerland. He is a Professor of Clarinet at the Zurich University of the Arts, and was a headlining artist at the 2014 PARMA Music Festival in the NH seacoast. Matthias has gained a reputation as a versatile artist and is active as an interpreter, composer, and teacher, and is a performing artist in the PARMA Fall 2020 Call for Scores. We caught up to discuss his background in music, his work in developing a sensor-augmented bass clarinet, and more.
