PARMA Recordings announces the 2014 PARMA Student Composer Competition
Submission for the 2014 PARMA Student Composer Competition is CLOSED. Check back in early spring 2015 for details on next year’s competition!
Awards
• The top ten winners will have their pieces published in the 2014 PARMA Anthology of Music
• The Grand Prize Winner’s piece will be premiered at the 2014 PARMA Music Festival (August 13-16 in Portsmouth NH) by the Redline Brass Quintet (www.redlinebrass.com). All ensemble, rehearsal, and publicity costs will be completely subsidized by PARMA and the performance will be included in all promotional materials for the Festival.
Winners will be selected anonymously by an independent panel of judges and announced in mid-June.
Eligibility
• Entrants must be 30 years old or younger
• Must be a current composition student either at an academic institution or through private instruction by a professional composer
Submission Guidelines
• Compositions must be written for brass quintet (2 trumpets, horn, bass and tenor trombones) only, no subset
• Must be 10 minutes or less in duration
• Compositions must be unpublished or self-published
To enter, composers must fill out the submission form below along with a PDF of the score and a MP3 or MIDI audio file. Submission limit is one work per composer.
There is no submission fee.
Deadline for submission is May 16, 2014.
