If you’ve heard composer Kile Smith’s music before, you probably haven’t forgotten it since. Described as having an “uncanny ability to speak in a consistent aesthetic tone” with works notable for “an arresting beauty and delicate charm,” Kile is a profound, passionate artist with true care for what he does. A longtime friend of both PARMA Recordings and Grammy Award-winning chamber choir The Crossing, Kile recently had his choral works based on the texts of Robert Lax and performed by The Crossing released on Navona Records. We got a chance to catch up with him and discuss the process of writing this music, what it was like hearing it live for the first time, and more.

Thank you Kile for speaking with PARMA, and we look forward to all that’s to come in our work together!
