PARMA has just completed a series of sessions with the Moravian Philharmonic
and conductor Vit Micka in the Czech Republic. The ensemble recorded
works by the composers Shawn Crouch, Stephen Yip, Michael Cunningham,

PARMA presents WILLIAM FRAMPTON & FRIENDS: 5 WAYS OF HEARING A VIOLA
on February 9, 2009 at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York.
The program features works by Schumann, Kurtag, Brahms, and PARMA producer
and composer Peter Homans.

PHOENIX ARTICLE AND REVIEW
The Portland Phoenix has published a profile of PARMA/Navona as well
as reviews of the new Stoltzman and Sacks CDs. "Clearly, the time
is ripe for Navona Records," writes the Phoenix's Sam Pfeifle.
"They're hitting the blogs and message boards. The artists have
MySpace pages. The CDs look cool. And they come with PDFs of the sheet

11/12/08 BECKMAN/STOLTZMAN SESSION VIDEO
This week, PARMA recorded and produced a full disc of music by pianist/composer
Patrick Beckman and clarinet soloist Richard Stoltzman called "Big
Muddy" (to be relased in early '09). The music contains a significant
amount of improvisation for Stoltzman, and the results were amazing.

MICROSOFT WINDOWS TO INCLUDE PARMA/NAVONA MUSIC
Microsoft's Windows will feature music from PARMA Recordings and its
label imprint Navona Records as pre-loaded content in Windows Media
Player. The music will be included in all purchased copies, downloads,
and updates of the software.

track.

10/21/08 COMPOSER BRENDAN MCCONVILLE
PARMA will record "La Piogga Nel Pineto" for soprano,
piano, and percussion by the composer Brendan McConville. Mr. McConville
studied composition with Charles Wuorinen and Gerald Chenoweth and music
theory with Nancy Rao, Charles Fussell and Richard Chrisman, and maintains
an active compositional acreer.

10/5/08 "PHOENIX" TAKES FLIGHT
The much-anticipated new Richard Stoltzman orchestral repertoire
collection PHOENIX IN FLIGHT was released on Tuesday September 30 by
Navona Records. The enhanced release presents the Slovak Radio Symphony
Orchestra, conductor Kirk Trevor, bassist Richard Fredrickson in works
by Weber, Debussy, Bottesini, and Tchaikovsky (arr. Takemitsu), and
features PDFs of the soloist's parts. PHOENIX and Stoltzman will be
the featured item in a pledge drive for Alabama Public Television in
October.
10/2/08 COMPOSER SHAWN CROUCH
PARMA will record New York-based composer Shawn Crouch's piece
CITY COLUMNS for orchestra with Vit Micka and the Moravian Philharmonic
in December of this year. The piece will be released by Navona on a
collection with Jason Barabba (whose piece features clarinetist Richard
Stoltzman) and Stephen Yip (a violin concerto featuring soloist Ondrej
Lebr).
9/24/08 MICHAEL EVANS SESSION
Composer Michael Evans traveled to Boston from Washington DC
to start recording his new CD with the PARMA team. The pieces featured
pianist Karolina Rojahn, cellist Emmanuel Feldman, and flutist Lisa
Hennessey. PARMA arranged for a rehearsal at Mr. Feldman's studio the
day prior to recording to insure a top-quality session and sterling
musical result. Mr. Evans will return to Boston later this fall to complete
the recording, which will be released by Navona in early 2009.
