PARMA Executive Producer Bob Lord has built a successful track record of high-quality audio production for a wide cross-section of media with a specialization in classical, rock, and jazz music. His work spans the film, tv, and radio industries, and he has produced artists such as Grammy-winning clarinetist Richard Stoltzman, world-renowned composer William Thomas McKinley, and Pixar orchestrator Jonathan Sacks (TOY STORY 2, SEABISCUIT, X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE). Since 1996, Bob has been the bassist/composer for the award-winning experimental trio Dreadnaught. The ensemble has released 6 full-length albums and performed close to 2000 times across the US, sharing a stage with John Entwistle (The Who), Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), and the great NRBQ. This summer Dreadnaught entered the studio to begin work on its new full-length, slated for 2009 release. As Music Director of the award-winning "Writers On A New England Stage" NHPR series since its inception in 2005, he has appeared with stars such as Ken Burns, Alan Alda, Dan Brown, John Updike, Mitch Albom, and Barbara Walters. The performances are regularly broadcast on public radio stations in New England. In 2005, Bob began working with Boston-based MMC Recordings, where he produced dozens of in-studio sessions in the U.S. and Europe and supervised releases featuring the London Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2008, he formed his own company, PARMA Recordings, with the charter of producing the highest quality music with the finest artists. PARMA Lead Investor Peter Homans earned a BA in English from Washington & Lee Univ. (with high honors) and two Masters of Music Theory and Composition from the New England Conservatory with highest honors. He produced the Conservatory's Composers' Concert Series for 4 years. For 3 years he produced a weekly radio show with WGBH in Boston, highlighting recordings of new music, which he recorded in the 'GBH studios, and interviews with living composers. He also received two fellowships to Tanglewood as a composer, and was the first-ever winner of the Aaron Copland Prize for Composition at Tanglewood. After NEC Peter went to work as Asst. Business Manager for Leonard Bernstein, primary musical assistant to the maestro, and Asst. Producer for John McClure, the head of classical recording at Columbia Records. Subsequently he took a several year sabbatical to build an economically viable business in the financial world, as an early partner at Bear Stearns in the early 80's, founder of his own Broker/Dealer Research firm in 1984, and finally a hedge fund in 1994, which grew to $400 million. Peter still runs that firm. He started writing again in 1990, and since then has written a great deal of music, which has been performed and recorded at Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall, in Prague, Silesia, London and other venues. His latest release, A PRAGUE SPRING, is available worldwide via iTunes and other distribution outlets. PARMA Product Manager Sean Joncas has supervised the release of dozens of albums for multiple labels. He coordinates all production activities for PARMA's label imprint Navona Records. Sean graduated from Colby-Sawyer College with a BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Writing. He began studying guitar at age 10 and regularly performs in venues throughout the Northeast. PARMA Artist Coordinator Renee Dupuis is a performing musician based out of New England. Renee earned her Bachelor of Music from the Hartt Conservatory of music where she received a diverse and cumulative education in classical music. She graduated an accomplished professional vocalist her instructors including Cherie Caluda, Dominique Eade, and Miae Cho. Renée now writes and performs music in various venues around New England. At PARMA, she works directly with artists and composers attending to various details of production and correspondence. |
